John Henry Patch was born in Norton Sub Hamdon, Somerset, England on 5 February, 1861. He changed his name to Sidney Henri Belmont after he came to the United States. Mary Emelia Blumenthal was born in Blue Hill, Webster Co., Nebraska on 1 May, 1873.
