Monk Family Ancestry
Genealogical research can be a very rewarding endeavor. It allows us to become closer to our forebears-- to know who they were and what they were like. We also can find living relatives and strike up new, rewarding relationships with distant (and often, not so distant) family members. My goal for putting our family's genealogy on the Internet is simple. I want to share the information we have with others in hopes that they will share what they have with us. In order to accomplish my goal, I've chosen the indexing service, GENDEX- WWW Genealogical Index, as an outlet for our family ancestry. This is a service that searches registered databases (nearly 25,000, last time I checked) and compiles a searchable index to all the the names in those databases. A recent check indicated that there are over 64 million individual names and over 1.2 million surnames in the registered databases. The indexing program, GED2HTML, is the heart of this operation. It converts the database into HTML and prepares it to be published on the Internet. Following are three separate databases that I maintain. All three of these are linked to GENDEX. Before you send me an e-mail regarding the information on this site, please read this.
